Scholarships from UNITAR may be available on a very competitive basis. UNITAR does not possess its own funds to support students but makes every effort to raise funds from donors and sponsors. Aside from UNITAR scholarships, a number of other organizations offer financial aide to students based on a number of factors. Below is a list of several organizations that you may wish to contact in search of funding for a Master's degree or individual course (the listing of these agencies does not guarantee funding to any of our students, this list is merely a reference list for possible funding sources). 

Scholarship Awards

The Aga Khan Foundation

  • Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grand : 50% loan basis through a competitive application process. Students are preferably under 30 years of age and must be eligible nationals of the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, Mozambique. In France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada, applications are accepted from those are originally from one of the above developing countries, are interested in development-related studies and who have no other means for financing their education.

 

Australian Federation of University Women (AFUW)

  • Australian Federation of Graduate Women Inc. (AFGW),its States and Territiories and their Branches place the highest priority on providing financial assistance for women to undertake university studies. They offer a number of Fellowships, Grants and Bursaries. AFGW State and Territory Associations and some of their branches also award various scholarships, awards and prizes. Information about the various scholarships, awards and prizes offered by the individual State and Territory associations and branches can be obtained directly from individual Associations.

The China Scholarship Council

  • Colfuturo is a Colombian non-profit foundation that was established in 1991 with the support of the National Government and some of the most important companies of the private sector in the county at that time. Its main objective is to provide financial support and increase the possibilities of Colombian citizens to access high-quality postgraduate study programs.

 

Foundation for Art Research Partnership and Education (ARPE)

  • The Foundation for Art Research Partnership and Education (ARPE) supports education by giving scholarships to talented young people to complete their education at a university (Swiss or foreign). There is no criteria regarding nationality but beneficiaries must have a disadvantaged background. ARPE also provides grants to talented individuals in the fields of art, music, medicine, and political sciences.

 

Fund for Development of Human Resources (FIDERH)

  • The Fund for Development of Human Resources (FIDERH) is a federal trust managed by the Central Bank of Mexico which for over 40 years has been financing graduate studies.

 

The Inlaks Foundation Scholarships

  • The Inlaks Foundation Scholarships are available for courses at European institutions. The scholarships cover tuition fees for the period granted. Tenure of other scholarships, teaching assistantships and part time jobs are permitted after permission from the Foundation. Only for Indian citizens.

Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP)

  • The JJ/WBGSP program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at universities renowned for their development research and teaching. The World Bank expects the scholars to return to their home countries upon completion of their study programs and apply their enhanced knowledge and skills to accelerate the pace of economic and social development. This is eligible for Developing Country Nationals and for Japan Nationals.

 

The Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship Program

  • The Global Study Awards, hosted by ISIC Association, StudyPortals and British Council IELTS, will be available to prospective students in all countries worldwide. Only international students are eligible to apply the Global Study Awards and successful candidate(s) will be able to study abroad, on any chosen undergraduate or postgraduate programme at a higher education institution.

Fulbright Foreign Student Programme
